Two small seconds and then that’s it: it was better not to blink to see the racing cars this Thursday evening on the slopes of the Col de Turini.
The organization, for the 90th edition of the event, wanted to mark the occasion by offering a return to this mythical place at night as in the golden age of the rally. Enough to excite fans from all over Europe: Spaniards, Italians, Belgians who told us that they drove for twelve hours just to encourage their own champion, Thierry Neuville.
The French are there of course, who come with family or friends to spend some time in a high place, the mythical event of the Rally.
In terms of results, it is Sébastien Ogier who takes control of the general classification at the end of this first day, a small handful of seconds ahead of another Sébastien, Loeb this one.
The suspense promises to be intense until Sunday.
