Sean Couturier scored at 3:55 of the overtime period and the Philadelphia Flyers defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins 2-1 on Monday.

Tyson Foerster scored the goal in regulation for the Flyers, who won the two consecutive games between the two clubs. On Saturday, they triumphed 4-3 in Pittsburgh when Couturier scored the only goal of the shootout.

It didn’t go to a shootout this time, as Couturier put the finishing touches on a two-on-one with Travis Konecny, beating Alex Nedeljkovic with a one-timer.

Sidney Crosby became the Penguins’ all-time leading scorer against the Flyers when he scored in the first period.

The Penguins captain also scored during a two-on-one sequence started by Jake Guentzel with 46 seconds left in the first period.

Crosby scored 54 goals and totaled 125 points in 85 games against the Flyers. He thus overtook Quebecer Mario Lemieux as best Penguin against the other Pennsylvania club.

The Penguins have still lost five of their last seven games and seven of their last 10.

Carter Hart and Nedeljkovic made 31 saves in the match.
