Flyers lose 5-2 to Flames

Blake Coleman had a goal and two assists on Monday to help the Calgary Flames win 5-2 against the Philadelphia Flyers.

Coleman took part in the nets of Jonathan Huberdeau and Dillon Dube in the first period, before scoring in an empty net.

Coleman was contesting his 400e National League game.

Rasmus Andersson and Trevor Lewis also scored for the Flames.

Jacob Markstrom made 23 saves. He was beaten by Joel Farabee and Tanner Laczynski, who got his first career goal.

The Flyers’ top scorer and scorer, Travis Konecny, missed a second straight game with an upper-body injury.

Carter Hart blocked 24 shots for the Flyers, who were losing for the seventh straight time.

The Flames were in Game 3 of a six-game road trip. Pittsburgh, Washington and Raleigh remain on the agenda.

They will then play five times in a row at home, including a game against the Canadiens on 1er december.

Patrice Bergeron gets his 1000e point

Patrice Bergeron got his 1000e career point with an assist in the second period and the Boston Bruins beat the Tampa Bay Lightning 5-3 on Monday for a seventh consecutive victory.

Bergeron became the fourth player in Bruins history and the 94e in NHL history to reach that milestone with his assist on Brad Marchand’s goal at 15:08 that gave the Bruins a 4-1 lead.

Marchand immediately pointed Bergeron after scoring his goal and the Bruins bench emptied to go celebrate with the 37-year-old center along the boards.

Other Bruins players to reach 1,000 points are Raymond Bourque (1,506), Johnny Bucyk (1,339) and Phil Esposito (1,012). Bergeron is 41e player to have amassed 1000 points with a single organization.

David Krejci, Nick Foligno, Charlie Coyle and David Pastrnak also hit the mark for the Bruins, who improved to 17-2. Linus Ullmark stopped 32 shots.

Nick Paul scored twice and Rudolfs Balcers scored the other goal for the Lightning. Andrei Vasilevskiy stopped 25 shots.

Captain Nico Hischier provided three assists and the New Jersey Devils picked up a 13e straight game on Monday, beating the Edmonton Oilers 5-2.

The Devils tied a team record set in 2000-01.

During the current sequence, they led 56-24 in terms of goals.

They will have the chance to break their record on Wednesday at home against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Yegor Sharangovich scored a sixth goal, scoring in a third game in a row.

Jesper Bratt, Dawson Mercer, Damon Severson and Tomas Tatar were the other Devils scorers.

Jack Hughes was an accomplice to two nets.

Vitek Vanecek made 27 saves for New Jersey, which has not been defeated since Oct. 24.

Leon Draisaitl and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins scored in a losing cause.

Stuart Skinner blocked 23 shots for the Oilers, who visit the Islanders on Wednesday and the Rangers on Saturday.

Morrissey plays heroes in overtime against the Hurricanes

Josh Morrissey scored once in regulation and added the game-winning goal 2:10 into overtime to lead the Winnipeg Jets to a 4-3 win over the Carolina Hurricanes on Monday.

Pierre-Luc Dubois had a goal and two assists and Michael Eyssimont, who scored his first NHL goal, also scored for the Jets (11-5-1). Blake Wheeler had two assists.

The Manitoba squad is 7-2-0 at the Canada Life Center this season.

David Rittich made 26 saves in his fourth start for the Jets. He has won his last three starts.

Jaccob Slavin, Andrei Svehnikov and Martin Necas hit the target for the Hurricanes (10-5-4), who lost for a third straight game in overtime. Sebastian Aho had three assists.

Pyotr Kochetkov started two straight games for the Hurricanes and stopped 19 of 23 shots he faced.

Beauvillier and the Islanders defeat the Maple Leafs

Anthony Beauvillier scored his first goal in 11 games at 1:56 of overtime as the New York Islanders came from a one-goal deficit late in the third period to defeat the Toronto Maple Leafs 3-2 on Monday.

Noah Dobson and Josh Bailey also hit the target for the Islanders (12-8-0), who benefited from 30 saves from Ilya Sorokin.

John Tavares and Auston Matthews provided the response to the Maple Leafs (10-5-5). Erik Kallgren made 21 saves for the Maple Leafs, who lost their fifth game in overtime this season.

Mitch Marner had an assist to extend his one-point streak to 13. He had three goals and 15 assists during that auspicious period.

Faulk breaks power play deadlock

The Blues celebrate their goal.

Justin Faulk broke the power play deadlock late in the third period on Monday, guiding the St. Louis Blues to a 3-1 win over the Anaheim Ducks.

Following a blocked shot from Jordan Kyrou, Robert Thomas passed in the right circle to Faulk, who collected a fourth goal this season.

Noel Acciari completed a double in an empty net.

The Blues won a seventh straight game, while the Ducks lost a third straight game.

Jordan Binnington made 27 saves.

He only gave in to Cam Fowler, who has seven points in his last four games. John Gibson stopped 23 shots.

Glass settles debate in seventh-round shootout against Coyotes

Cody Glass settled the dispute in the seventh round of the shootout and the Nashville Predators came from behind to beat the Arizona Coyotes 4-3 on Monday.

Mikael Granlund and Roman Josi had a goal and an assist for the Predators. Matt Duchene also hit the target as Juuse Saros stopped 24 shots.

Nick Bjugstad scored twice and had an assist for the Coyotes. Lawson Crouse also hit the mark.

In the loss, Connor Ingram improved to 1-5-0 after making 24 saves against his former team.
