Sidney Crosby scored two goals and an assist, Alex Nedeljkovic stopped 28 shots and the Pittsburgh Penguins beat the New York Rangers 5-2 on Monday night.
With 82 points this season, Crosby ensures that he finishes the season with an average of at least one point per game for the 19e times in as many campaigns. Only Wayne Gretzky has achieved the feat as many times, also with 19.
The Rangers had won five games in a row.
Bryan Rust also found the back of the net twice for the Penguins. Emil Bemstrom completed the winning side.
The Penguins are 14-9-3 in their last 26 games against the Rangers.
Kaapo Kakko and Jack Roslovic scored for Rangers. Igor Shesterkin blocked 16 pucks.
The Penguins were leading 3-0 when Kakko scored his 12e goal of the campaign midway through the third period. Artemi Panarin got his 64e help on the game, a team summit.
Roslovic cut the lead to 3-2 with 3:07 remaining, but Rust and Crosby added to an empty net.
Rust opened the scoring after just 18 seconds of play.
Crosby made it 2-0 in the first period and Bemstrom, alone against the goalie, gave the Penguins a 3-0 lead at 9:51 in the third period.

Auston Matthews scores two more goals in Maple Leafs victory

Auston Matthews scored twice to get to 62 goals and the Toronto Maple Leafs won a third straight game on Monday, winning 6-4 over the Florida Panthers.
Top scorer in the NHL this season, Matthews scored in the first period and in an empty net.
The Leafs held on after taking a 5-1 lead after two periods.
Nick Robertson, Matthew Knies, Tyler Bertuzzi and David Kampf had the other goals for the winners.
Ilya Samsonov made 27 saves for the Toronto clan.
Vladimir Tarasenko scored a goal and three points for Florida.
Sam Reinhart, Sam Bennett and Brandon Montour were the other scorers for the Panthers.
Sergei Bobrovsky was beaten five times in 16 shots before giving way to Anthony Stolarz, who made eight saves.
The Panthers will be at the Bell Center on Tuesday.
Toronto will host the Tampa Bay Lightning on Wednesday.

Tarasov blocks 46 shots in Blue Jackets’ 4-1 win over Avalanche

Alexander Nylander scored two goals and the Columbus Blue Jackets defeated the Colorado Avalanche 4-1 on Monday.
The Blue Jackets scored three times in the second period to net the victory.
Kirill Marchenko scored and had an assist, Cole Sillinger also scored and Eric Gudbranson had two assists.
It was only the fourth time this season that the Blue Jackets had won back-to-back.
Daniil Tarasov stopped 46 shots in his first game against the Avalanche.
Chris Wagner found the back of the net and Justus Annunen stopped 21 shots for the Avalanche.
Marchenko scored the first goal of the game at 9:35 in the second period, beating Annunen between the pads. It was his 20e goal of the season.
Nylander doubled his team’s lead with a wrist shot with 5:48 left in the period. The forward then scored his second goal of the game with 1:57 left in the period.
Nylander has scored 10 goals in 17 games since joining the Blue Jackets, a team record.
Sillinger put the finishing touch into an empty net with less than two minutes left in regulation.

Nelson gives Islanders victory in overtime against Flyers

Brock Nelson scored at 1:25 in overtime Monday, giving the New York Islanders a 4-3 win over the Philadelphia Flyers.
Anders Lee, Bo Horvat and Matt Martin also threaded the needle for the Islanders, who are three points from the last playoff spot in the East.
Semyon Varlamov made 29 saves for the Islanders, who won for only the third time in 11 games.
Morgan Frost, Noah Cates and Travis Sanheim fought back for the Flyers, who have lost their last five games.
Samuel Ersson was beaten twice in six shots and then Ivan Fedotov made his NHL debut, blocking 24 pucks.

Perron scores late in game and Red Wings beat Lightning 4-2

David Perron scored the game-winning goal with 2:40 remaining and the Detroit Red Wings defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning 4-2 on Monday.
Patrick Kane, Robby Fabbri and Lucas Raymond also beat Andrei Vasilevskiy. Alex Lyon stopped 34 pucks for the Red Wings.
Lyon won its first game since February 27, an 8-3 victory against the Washington Capitals.
Anthony Cirelli and Steven Stamkos scored for the Lightning and Vasilevskiy blocked 28 shots.
The Red Wings opened the scoring 37 seconds into the second period, when Kane took advantage of Dylan Larkin’s rebound. Kane hit the target with a backhand.
Cirelli tied the score before the end of the period, but Fabbri scored early in the third period to give the Red WIngs the lead again.
Stamkos made it 2-2 by scoring at 5:59 in the third period on the power play.
Raymond put the finishing touch into an empty net.

Perfetti scores three points and the Jets win 4-3 against the Kings

Cole Perfetti scored two goals, Kyle Connor had three assists and the Winnipeg Jets beat the Los Angeles Kings 4-2 on Monday.
The Jets took advantage of the first power play of the game to score midway through the third period. He beat goalkeeper Cam Talbot with a low shot.
Josh Morrissey had a goal and an assist and Sean Monahan also found the back of the net in the victory.
Laurent Brossoit blocked 25 shots for his team.
Viktor Arvidsson, Kevin Fiala and Anze Kopitar scored despite their team’s defeat. Desinger Vladislav Gavrikov finished the game with two assists and Talbot stopped 28 shots.
