Mollies | Marconi’s little sister is in Sutton

In recent years, many Montrealers have settled in the Eastern Townships to find a gentler life. Molly Superfine-Rivera, co-owner of the Marconi, in the metropolis, has just swapped an evening urban restaurateur’s schedule for that of a café co-owner in Sutton.

She is not alone in the adventure. His constant partner, Mehdi Brunet-Benkritly (who continues to keep the house in Montreal), and the chef of the Marconi, Jonathan Prima, lend him a hand. But the name of the place, Mollies, leaves no doubt about the identity of the patron!

For several years, this meeting point for the villagers was called Le Cafetier. When it was put up for sale by the former couple of owners, the city-dwellers, who own a chalet nearby, decided to take over, of course bringing their own touch, especially to the menu.

So far, the decor, furniture and even the staff have not changed, or very little. However, the omelet has turned into a frittata, the little sweets have been revisited, wines and other drinks from local and international artisans now occupy the menu.

To continue serving the community, fan of early breakfasts, late morning lazy days and afternoon comfort, Mollies Café Dinette Buvette continues to open at 7 a.m. But at 5 p.m., the stoves were turned off. It’s time to pick up the little ones from daycare!
