“We can’t ask children to actually hit each other.”, protested Wednesday March 27 at the microphone of France Inter Perrine Goulet, MoDem deputy who saw the videos of the casting of the film CE2 by Jacques Doillon, a drama about school bullying. The French director is the target of a complaint for “rape of a minor” filed by actress Judith Godrèche. Questions also arise around the casting of children. The film was originally scheduled to be released in theaters this Wednesday.
Perrine Goulet, president of the children’s rights delegation, speaks of abuse after watching the videos. According to her, we see “a little girl who, on several occasions, expresses the fact that she does not want to talk about the harassment of which she was a victim. The person who casts forces her, pushes her, re-questions her several times. We see that the little girl girl twists, she cries, she doesn’t want to speak, but the adult ends up forcing her to speak”she said.
The MoDem MP also had access to another video that she found “very shocking”. During the casting, “They ask two children to really hit each other. After a while, we hear the voice telling the boys to respond and the boy responds too violently. The little girl is really hurt. We see her afterwards crying. hands in hair. We see the casting director saying: ‘No, but it’s good, that’s how it is!’“.
Perrine Goulet asked that the film not be released and with two other deputies sent a report to the public prosecutor for the opening of an investigation. A commission of inquiry into the situation of minors in the cinema, performing arts and fashion industries should see the light of day under the leadership of actress Judith Godrèche. A motion for a resolution, supported by the majority, was tabled by Green MP Francesca Pasquini.
