In order to move and play sports, there are now traveling sports halls that criss-cross the villages to give lessons almost at home.
At first glance, it’s a simple van, but inside, it’s a real mobile gym. Direction the communal hall of the village of Sept-Sorts (Seine-et-Marne). Jennyfer Horvat, sports educator, explains: “You can sit anywhere, in all the communal halls. If the weather is nice, we can also do it outside.” Let’s go for 60 minutes of gym, an invigorating break to which some are already addicted. A beneficiary indicates: “Already, it’s a way to improve our organization […] and then it allows you to meet people.”
24 trucks in 2024
For the municipality, the cost is 50 euros on average per course, a simple way to compensate for the absence of sports associations in the village. In each vehicle, there is equipment for around thirty activities in total and for everyone: children, seniors, people with disabilities. In Ardèche, Normandy or Aquitaine, 17 trucks of this type are already criss-crossing the countryside of France. The objective of the association: to have 24 in 2024.
