In a statement, the Toronto team said the agreement is valid until the end of the 2023 season.
21 years old, he is the 27e player from the Toronto FC Academy to sign a contract with the first team.
The Toronto squad is helpless in this position following the retirement of Justin Morrow and the departure of Richie Laryea, who joined Nottingham Forest FC, a second division team in England.
Petrasso has spent the last four seasons with Toronto FC II. He took part in 63 games and scored three goals. He joined the TFC Academy in January 2013 and signed a contract with TFC II in March 2018.
He represented Canada at the Concacaf Under-17 Championship in Panama in 2017.
