Major League Soccer (MLS) leaders have announced that British outfit Arsenal FC will take on MLS stars on July 19 at Audi Field in Washington, D.C.
The day before, the MLS elite will face off against Arsenal FC in the skills competition.
In a press release, Gary Stevenson, assistant commissioner and chairman of MLS, noted that Arsenal FC was one of the most famous and popular clubs in the world.
Arsenal FC have 13 Premier League titles and are top of the Premier League this season with a 22-3-3 record for a total of 69 points.
As part of the announcement, MLS released a promotional video on social media which features Arsenal FC players preparing for the event.
Wayne Rooney, who manages DC United in MLS, will be the head coach of the league’s all-star team.
This will be his third participation in the classic. He had participated in 2019 as an MLS player, against Atlético de Madrid, as well as in 2011, against the stars of MLS, when he played for Manchester United.
