(New York) CF Montreal players Samuel Piette and Josef Martinez are among the finalists for the Landon Donovan Trophy, which is awarded annually to the MVP of Major League Soccer.
The list of 34 finalists released Monday also includes Inter Miami players Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez, as well as Toronto FC players Federico Bernardeschi and Jonathan Osorio.
Other contenders for the prestigious title include Christian Benteke (D.C. United), Luciano Acosta (FC Cincinnati), Evander (Portland Timbers), Cucho Hernandez (Columbus Crew) and Denis Bouanga (LAFC).
The vote for the granting of this title will take place until October 21 among the technical staff of MLS clubs, players and journalists, each group counting for a third of the available votes.
