Charlotte FC will have to deal without a third of its players when it visits CF Montreal on Saturday night at Stade Saputo, due to health and safety protocols related to COVID-19.

According to the daily “Charlotte Observer”, 10 athletes from the expansion team did not make the trip to Quebec. However, it is not specified whether these players contracted the coronavirus or whether they were unable to cross the border due to the vaccine.
Additionally, Charlotte reportedly tried to have the game postponed, but Major League Soccer reportedly denied their request.
CF Montreal sits fifth in the Eastern Conference standings, three points ahead of their opponent of the day, who is eighth.
