MLS | CF Montreal agrees for three seasons with George Campbell

Young defender George Campbell, acquired by CF Montreal in mid-December, has agreed to a three-year contract with the team.

The Montreal team made the announcement in a press release on Friday morning. The deal will end in 2025 with an option year in 2026.

The centre-back was acquired from Atlanta United on December 13, in exchange for $400,000 in General Allocation Money (GAM) in 2023, and $200,000 in 2024.

In three seasons with Atlanta, Campbell played 36 regular season games, including 22 starts. He got a total of 2151 minutes of play. Of those 36 games, 20 were played in 2022, 16 of which as a starter. However, he did not play much at the end of the season.

The 21-year-old American has also featured in two games for the United States U20 national team.
