Hernán Losada’s team conceded two quick goals in the 30th and 33rd minutes. Ahmed Hamdi reduced the score to 2-1 five minutes before halftime. The latter scored a beautiful goal at the edge of the area following an offering from Lassi Lappalainen. The Egyptian midfielder’s cross shot ended in goalkeeper Brad Guzan’s side net.

The local favorites added two goals in the second half. Georgios Giakoumakis took advantage of a defensive blunder at Le Bleu-Blanc-Noir to bring the score to 3-1. Edwin Mosquera closed the books for Atlanta with a net in the 89th minute.

CF Montreal was outclassed in the vast majority of statistics. The Georgia-based club had the ball 64% of the time. The Montreal eleven allowed 17 shots, including 8 on target.

Montreal will travel to Florida to face Orlando City next week. With this defeat, the club is still eighth in the Eastern Conference with 37 points.
