A three-run push in the fourth inning allowed the crowd favorites to drop their opponents for a 4-0 lead. Jack Suwinski led the push with a two-run homer, while Ben Gamel produces the other point, with a double.
Daniel Vogelbach, with a solo homer in the second round at bat, and Oneil Cruz, with a sacrifice fly in the sixth inning, produced the other runs for the winners.
Yankees gunner Jameson Taillon (9-2) also had a rare bad game. He allowed all five of the opposition’s runs on six hits, before being retired after five and a third innings.
In the winning camp, Jose Quintana (2-4) was not particularly brilliant, but he still added victory to his record by making seven opponents bite the dust, in five sets of work. He also allowed one run on six hits.
David Bednar handled the rescue, his 13th of the campaign.
Toro helps Mariners win
In San Diego, Quebec’s Abraham Toro didn’t have a particularly productive game, but he still completed the lap once in the Seattle Mariners’ 6-2 win over the Padres.
In the fourth inning, the Mariners designated hitter came to the plate with two outs already recorded by the crowd favorites. Toro still got a walk from pitcher Mike Clevinger.
He then reached third base with a single from Adam Frazier, then home plate with a double from Dylan Moore.
It was however the only moment of celebration for Toro, who did not reach the goal another time.
