Big news Monday morning for listeners of ICI Première radio in Montreal. Yves Desautels, the show’s circulation columnist All one morning And 15/18announced that he will retire from the airwaves on May 30.
We will miss his legendary and recognizable voice. Yves Desautels, the man we affectionately call “Monsieur Circulation” for 25 years, will no longer play in traffic aboard his van bearing the image of Radio-Canada. After a 47-year career, including 25 years as a traffic reporter, early in the morning and late in the afternoon, the columnist decided to store his patrol vehicle in the garage.
On the Facebook page of All one morning, several people reacted to the news on Monday. “Your voice has inhabited my mornings for the last 47 years! Thank you for your seriousness in traffic and at the same time your humor outside of traffic. I wish you a happy retirement,” wrote the author of Like meMarc Brunet.
” OH ! not already ! Yves we will miss your voice and your comments in the morning were sometimes so funny. Congratulations for your patience and perseverance,” wrote actress Shirley Théroux.
Or even Louise Latraverse: “Thank you, Mr. Desautels, for taking care of us! Enjoy these beautiful days ahead of you! “. “Have a good trip, Mr. Desautels,” added his news colleague at Radio-Canada, Daniel Lessard.
