A life broke in the prime of lifewhile everything predicted a bright future for him: this Tuesday, November 1, the organizers of the Mister France competition announced the sudden death at the age of 25 of one of the participants, Clément Berthevas, elected Mister France Picardie last year. As he walked by the side of a road in his native Picardy, returning home after a Halloween party, the young man was suddenly hit by a carwho fled.
Quickly taken care of by the firefighters and transported to the University Hospital of Amiens by helicopter, Clément Berthevas finally lost his life a few hours later, most likely surrounded by his collapsed relatives. The driver, only 29 years old and who had first fled, finally surrendered to the police and is now doing the subject of a flagrance investigation for “aggravated manslaughter”. His passenger also surrendered.
A terrible drama for the relatives of the young man but also for a whole competition which wanted to pay tribute to the young man on his Instagram account. The Picardie committee notably published a touching message : “We are sad to announce the death of our Mister France PICARDIE, Clément. All our condolences to the family. We will miss you you were a motivated and exceptional Mister, rest in peace“, can we read.
It must be said that until recently, Clément Berthevas had been invited by the organization to attend the Miss Picardy election with the latest Miss France to date, Diane Leyre, and was very involved in the competition, lending its image to the many advertisements of the Mister France brand. The national committee also paid him a strong tribute.
“He was life itself at its most combative. Among the images he leaves us, we salute his commitment to the association of Military Blueberries, a symbol of memory and solidarity, and his civic commitment to blood donation. We will have the memory of a young man committed to society, always ready to help. The Mister France committee presents its sincere condolences to his family and stands by their side“, they wrote, greeted by many Internet users including Lenny Tabourel, Mister France 2022, who wished “his friend” of “rest in peace“.
