It was on December 22 around 11:45 a.m. that the police were called to intervene in a building on Zion Avenue regarding a possible death.

“Essentially, family members from out of town were at a residence and found a dead body inside a chest freezer. They immediately called the police,” said the San Diego Police Department.

After the autopsy, investigators were able to declare that these were the remains of Margaret Haxby-Jones. The woman, who would now be 81 years old, was reported missing nine years ago. According to preliminary information, she may have lived at one time or another in the residence where she was found.

“The cause of death has not been determined and remains under investigation by the medical examiner’s office. However, no obvious traumatic injury on the body was noted,” added the police force, specifying that an investigation was opened taking into account the circumstances in which Mr.me Haxby-Jones has been found.
