Missed Calls From Home is certainly one of the most nostalgic records of the year, in the sense that Ragers brings back this hyper polished pop-punk of the early 2000s. Percussive guitar riffs, catchy choruses and explosion of drums make the success of an album which awakens in our minds the most memorable pieces of The Hives, Three Days Grace, Simple Plan, Fall Out Boy or Linkin Park, all of that at the same time and even much more. Missed Calls From Home is actually tasted like a delicious Proust madeleine for anyone who grew up during the turn of the millennium that we enjoy dipping in a very contemporary infusion sprinkled with hip-hop passages. In the end, the Montreal quartet takes the listener on a real emotional roller coaster, where the intensity of the stories crystallizes in cathartic songs like the excellent Yungas Road, the enraged Tossed Out and just as crazy Goblin Mode, which undoubtedly stand out the most from the whole.
