At the Palais des Congrès Ernest N. Morial, in New Orleans in the United States, Saturday January 14, took place the 71st edition of Miss Universe. Elected Miss USA a few months ago, R’Bonney Gabriel was crowned. The young woman won ahead of Amanda Dudamel, Miss Venezuela and Andreina Martinez, Miss Dominican Republic. Floriane Bascou, who represented France in this competition, was not part of this top 16 chosen (for 15 of them, editor’s note), upstream by a jury during the Preliminary show. The candidates had passed an interview and then marched in swimsuits and evening dress. The sixteenth participant selected was chosen by the vote of Internet users.
So they are Miss Puerto Rico, Miss Haiti, Miss Australia, Miss Dominican Republic, Miss Laos, Miss South Africa, Miss Portugal, Miss Canada, Miss Peru, Miss Trinidad and Tobago, Miss Curaçao, Miss India, Miss Venezuela, Miss Spain , Miss United States and Miss Colombia were called.
Sylvie Tellier, who was in the comments of this evening on Paris Premiere told our colleagues to Tele-Leisure that the task was going to be difficult for Diane Leyre’s first runner-up: “VSt is an international competition and the competition is fierce this year. It takes an alignment of the planets to win Miss Universe. And then, with more than 80 candidates, our chances of winning the crown are even lower than at Miss France”, adding however that Miss Martinique 2022 was able “to position itself well in the ranking”.
Unfortunately this was not the case!
