Mireille Mathieu with family in Saint-Tropez: she hasn’t aged a bit!

For Mireille Mathieu, summer holidays inevitably rhyme with Saint-Tropez. The 76-year-old singer comes here every year to recharge her batteries and enjoy the sun of the Côte d’Azur. And the interpreter ofA woman in love was no exception to the tradition this summer of 2022. For the occasion, she was accompanied by her 2 sisters Christiane and Monique, Catherine Madar and her adopted son and several friends. Time doesn’t seem to have a hold on the star, who hasn’t aged a bit. The small gang was spotted strolling around the coastal town and even stopped at a church. The artist with the mythical bowl cut undoubtedly made a prayer there for his mother, Marcelle-Sophie Mathieu, who died in 2016, and to whom she was very close.

Even on vacation, Mireille Mathieu gave an interview to our colleagues from Nice-Matin. She notably returned to her moving tribute to the late Daniel Lévi: “Everything was spontaneous, without the slightest rehearsal (…) we met with Patrick Bruel and Félix Gray to take over L’Envie d’aimer (…) It was a lot of generosity and emotion“.

Of course, the big fan of Russia was also questioned about her relationship with Vladimir Putin since the start of the war. She explains having a relationship “different“with the statesman.”He greeted me personally several times when I was singing there” she says, calling for peace between the two countries: “I call for diplomacy and a meeting between President Putin and his Ukrainian counterpart. Ban the word “war” from the dictionary.. If she does not validate the actions of the dangerous Vladimir, she does not forget her attachment to the Russian people: “Russia is a big country. The Russians love France and it is a people that remains dear to my heart. Of course, he walks 100% behind his president. It’s typically Russian. If one does not know the country well, one cannot understand that”.

At the start of the school year, Mireille Mathieu will be back with an event duo. She will indeed be present on the posthumous album of singer Arno (who died in April) for a “reggae” version of his song La Paloma farewell. We can’t wait to hear that!
