The Minister of Public Security, Geneviève Guilbault, assured Thursday afternoon that in her opinion, Quebec remains a safe province following three assassinations committed by a killer who was possibly experiencing mental health problems.

“All in all, we continue to live in a nation, Quebec, which is safe,” she assured LCN in an interview.
The latter, however, recognized that “the events have a direct incident on the feeling of security” and refrained from minimizing the impact of the three murders.
The minister did not hold a press briefing on Wednesday or Thursday to comment on the events, contenting herself with granting a few interviews on Thursday afternoon.
