Minister Christian Dubé interrupted by demonstrators

The Minister of Health, Christian Dubé, was interrupted during his opening speech at the Première ligne en santé conference, which brings together hundreds of health professionals at the Palais des congrès de Montréal. Armed with whistles and signs, around twenty demonstrators from the Confederation of National Unions (CSN) chanted “In health, no private life”.

The minister’s conference should resume in the next few minutes.

“Here, it’s all people from the private sector. We are against the privatization of the network. We know that this increases the wait,” declared Arianne Carmele-Pelosse.

CSN demonstrators promise to hold other events of this type to denounce the privatization of the health network as part of a national campaign.

Further details will follow.
