Wealthy states had to dispose of 240 million expired doses of Covid-19 vaccines. France alone threw away 218,000.
In a landfill, whole cartons of anti-covid vaccines are thrown away in Nigeria because they are expired. Waste is likely to repeat because stocks are piling up as the pace of vaccinations slows. Worldwide, there are more than 2.2 billion doses in stock, with a record for China, which has 292 million. “Many high-income countries bought more doses than their people needed.
