(Beijing) Mikaela Shiffrin is ready to have “fun” in her next alpine skiing event at the Beijing Games when she is due to take part in the super-G.

Early in the day in China on Friday, Shiffrin posted a message on her Twitter account in which she expresses how grateful she is “to have the chance to focus on a new event, in a sport (that she) love so much”.
The two-time Olympic gold medalist will compete in her third event in Beijing on Friday morning at 11 a.m. local time.
The star skier is having a rough start to the Olympics this year. The 26-year-old American left the track just ten seconds after starting the giant slalom on Monday, then suffered the same fate in even less time in the slalom on Wednesday.
“I have received so many messages of support over the past 48 hours,” Shiffrin wrote. And I want to thank everyone. »
She won gold in the slalom at the Sochi Games in 2014 as well as gold in the giant slalom at the PyeongChang Games in 2018.
Shiffrin has never competed in the Olympic super-G, but she won gold at the 2019 world championships in that event.
