Mikaël Kingsbury wins in parallel and gets his hands on two globes

Mikaël Kingsbury won the moguls event alongside the Almaty World Cup on Saturday in Kazakhstan, ensuring he gets his hands on two additional crystal globes at the end of the season.

The skier from Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts won in the final against local favorite Pavel Kolmakov to sign his 89e victory in 150 career World Cup starts. At the same time, he became the most experienced mogul skier.

The Quebecer thus remains at the top of the general classification and that of the moguls at the same time, with a final stopover in Chiesa in Valmalenco, next Saturday in Italy.

He is now guaranteed to win the titles in parallel and in the general classification since it is mathematically impossible to beat him.

Kingsbury also won the individual event on Friday, but the Japanese Ikuma Horishima, second, won the globe in this discipline.

Quebecer Julien Viel was also in action on Saturday, ending his day of work in the quarter-finals. Elliot Vaillancourt did not make it past the round of 16.
