Mika among the headliners of the 2023 24 Hours of Le Mans centenary concerts

The 100th edition of the mythical race will not escape tradition: four concert evenings are scheduled, from June 7 to 10, 2023. The singer Mika will set the tempo on Saturday June 10, the day of the launch of the race.

Apart from the race, another event is always eagerly awaited during the 24 Hours of Le Mans: music and concerts. This year, the 4th round of the World Endurance Championship of the International Automobile Federation (FIA) also celebrates its centenary, on June 10 and 11, 2023. The musical program is still rich this year. Mika is the great musical guest of this edition since he will perform on the day of the start of the race, Saturday June 10. The artists who will provide the first part each evening, from 8 p.m., are not yet known.

Four concert evenings

The first artist to take the stage is Zazie, on Wednesday June 7. The 59-year-old singer released her eleventh studio album in December 2022, Wing-P. Her performance will be part of the new tour of the one who is also a tele-hook sworn The Voice, “Air tour”, which starts in June.

It would be almost impossible to have the 24 Hours of Le Mans without English artists. On Thursday June 8, free practice days, the English rock group Razorlight will perform in Sarthe. After a meteoric rise and millions of sales, the group had separated. In April 2021, Johnny Borrell, Andy Burrows, Björn Ågren and Carl Dalemo had announced that they were working together again for the first time in over ten years. Their presence at the 24 Hours is therefore a nice surprise.

Another atmosphere on Friday June 9, the day before the start of the race. It is Bob Sinclar who will ignite the surroundings of the circuit. The French electronic music producer and DJ, now 53, has been stringing together collaborations and hits since the late 1990s.

On Saturday, June 10, it will be the launch of completely different music from 4 p.m., with the sound of 62 engines roaring until the following afternoon. A concert is still planned for the evening, that of Mika. The 39-year-old singer, who has sold more than 10 million albums to date, unveiled his new single on March 6. keep it simple in duet with Vianney.

The concerts that take place alongside the race have been organized by the Automobile Club de l’Ouest (ACO) since 1999. French singers and groups such as Superbus (in 2007), BB Brunes (in 2009) and Shaka Ponk (in 2012) have already animated the Sarthois circuit. Among the international stars, there have already been Jamiroquai (2003), Kool and the Gang (2017), Texas (2018)… Last year, the French group Kyo, Pete Doherty, Martin Solveig and the British rock group The Stranglers provided the show.
