After yet another murderous shipwreck of migrants this week, a European meeting is being held on Sunday November 28 in Calais (Pas-de-Calais) to discuss the fight against smuggling networks.
Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin invited Sunday November 28 in Calais (Pas-de-Calais) his Belgian, Dutch and German counterparts to talk mainly about the fight against smuggling networks. The big absentees will be the British. Their invitation was canceled by the French executive after the publication of a letter from the Premier Minister Boris Johnson, who caused controversy.
They are, however, an essential interlocutor in the discussions because Great Britain is the country of destination for migrants. The Vice-President of the European Commission said the United Kingdom had to manage its borders itself after deciding to leave the European Union, concludes France Télévisions journalist Odile Longueval, live from Calais on Sunday noon.
