Tenor depicts the life of Antoine (MB14), a young Parisian suburbanite who studies accounting without much conviction alongside his practice of rap and his job as a delivery boy. One evening, he crosses paths with Mrs. Loyseau (Michèle Laroque), singing teacher at a prestigious academy, who will immediately perceive his vocal potential. Devoid of classical culture, Antoine nevertheless lets himself be convinced to follow Mme Loyseau’s lessons and becomes fascinated by a universe that is foreign to him. At the same time, Antoine must face the gaze of his family and friends for whom opera is a bourgeois thing, far from their world.
