Michel Platini, Christian Karembeu and Wilfrid Mbappé gathered for a good cause in Ardèche

Football is the most popular sport on the planet and some stars use this notoriety for very noble causes. This is exactly what happened on April 18 near Aubenas, in the Ardèche, where the Variété Club de France organized a charity football match in honor of deceased canadairs pilots on assignment in the region. A great initiative on the part of this football club which brings together many sports and non-sports personalities each year for this kind of event.

For the occasion, the Variétés had called on well-known faces of the French, starting with one of the greatest footballers in history, Michael Platini. The triple Ballon d’Or was present to watch the match played against the Ardèche firefighters. On the field, the 98 world champions were honored since Christian Karembeu and his friend Laurent Blanc traveled to attend the meeting.

Kylian Mbappé’s father as popular as his son

Other actors well known to football lovers were also present, starting with Laurent Paganelli, the famous Canal + consultant. He was able to share the pitch with the former coach of Saint-Étienne, Claude Puel. The presence of Wilfrid Mbappe particularly caught the attention of the 2,500 spectators who attended the match. If he did not have a professional career, Kylian Mbappé’s father has become a well-known figure in France and he did not hesitate to sign autographs after the meeting. The former Paris Saint-Germain player and current consultant for Amazon Prime, Matthew Bodmer also made the trip to Ardèche to support this good cause.

A beautiful sunny day and a match which ended with a score of 2 goals everywhere, but the main thing was elsewhere since this charity match made it possible to raise 15,000 euros for a good cause. Hats off gentlemen!
