Wednesday, June 8 opened in Switzerland the trial of Michel Platini and Sepp Blatter, prosecuted for fraud. The decision will be made on July 8.

The affair caused the downfall of two major leaders of the football world, Michel Platini, former boss of UEFA, and the ex-president of FIFA, Sepp Blatter. Since 2015, they have been suspended for four and six years from any football-related activity.

They have been appearing since Wednesday, June 8 in the morning before the Swiss Federal Criminal Court for “fraud”. In question, a suspicious amount of 1.8 million euros received by Michel Platini in 2011, for missions carried out between 1998 and 2002. The former number 10 was at the time adviser to the President of FIFA, Sepp Blatter . Michel Platini invoked an oral remainder.

Sepp Blatter is also present in court. He is being prosecuted, like Michel Platini, for fraud, unfair management, breach of trust and false titles. Already suspended for four years from all football-related activity, Michel Platini has always evoked a conspiracy to prevent him from becoming FIFA boss. The court’s decision will be handed down on July 8.
