Michel Leeb always has the word to laugh. As waste accumulates in the streets of Paris since the start of the garbage collectors’ strike protesting against the pension reform, the 75-year-old comedian took to his Instagram account to share a photomontage. In the image posted online this Thursday, March 16, 2023, we can see Anne Hidalgo, mayor of Paris, wearing a dress designed using several garbage bags. With a smile on her face, the latter stands proudly in the back of a dumpster. In caption: “Tonight I’ll be the trash to go dancing”. A reference to the famous title of Sylvie Vartan, The most beautiful to go dancing, that the actor has overcome with a well-felt comment. “Well it’s clean!”, added Francis Huster’s sidekick. A post that sparked strong reactions.
“How sad”, “Pretty evening dress”. “We have to change the mayor, a disaster for this woman”, “It’s better to laugh”, “What a good idea”, “Brilliant”, “I love it”, “I’m going to become a garbage collector myself”, “Top”, “That suits her really well, she is the image of this poor Paris that she has managed to disfigure since she has been at the helm”, “Too sad for such a beautiful capital”could we read in the comments.
