It is a moment of emotion that Michel Drucker perhaps did not expect. This Sunday October 8, 2023, the host of Roll on Sunday received the singer on her legendary red sofa Michele Torr, come to take a tour of her immense career. In more than half a century of career, the septuagenarian leaves behind cult titles, such as Take me dancing tonight in 1976, or even I appeal to tenderness in 1981. Discreet for several years, the mother has reacted a lot in recent months to the exclusion of his son Romain Vidal funeral of his illegitimate father Christophe. The singer, carried away by complications linked to Covid in April 2020, never wanted to recognize this illegitimate son, who remained until the death of his wronged father, and sidelined.
With emotion, Michèle Torr revealed the exclusion of her son from the end of his illegitimate father’s life, and revealed how much Romain Vidal was saddened and “upset” of not being able to see his father one last time during his lifetime, and even more so of attending his funeral: “He was deeply upset to be excluded, we will say”condemned the mother, who also pointed out the exclusion of other members of Christophe’s family, such ase “his brother Gérard, who (has) always (been) there” for him. “We shouldn’t have had any news, that Romain had any news and it reached his immediate family” condemned the singer who experienced a highly publicized idyll with the singer in the mid-1960s.
An unrecognized child, a misunderstood adult
Very saddened by this sidelining and by this recognition of paternity to which he was never entitled during Christophe’s lifetime, Romain Vidal recently published his truths, in an autobiography called Christophe, my unknown father, in which he returned to this exclusion that he never digested, even three and a half years after the disappearance of the performer of Les Marionnettes and Aline. Asked by The Parisian At the end of this powerful book, the 56-year-old man, who suffers from multiple sclerosis, modestly revealed himself: “I hope that people will understand my story, my suffering, but also that of Christophe”. In her son’s work, Michèle Torr notably revealed that Romain’s birth was wanted by Christophe, who however never recognized it: “Having a child, he told me so many times that it was his dreamhe was already imagining it, drawing a future for it (…) I had no doubt that Christophe would be even happier than me, that went without saying”.
