Michael Schumacher breaks a new record: the champion continues to panic the counters

This is the story of one of the greatest champions in the history of motorsport, about whom little has been known for almost nine years now. In December 2013, while he was hurtling down the ski slopes of Méribel (Savoie), Michael Schumacher is the victim of a very violent accident. Quickly taken care of by the emergency services, he was rushed to Grenoble hospital for treatment. He suffers from a head trauma with a coma and if his life is saved, the sequelae are very serious. Since then, the German has long rested in Switzerland, near Gland, but recently we learned that he was moving with his family to the Balearic Islands (Spain).

Despite his absence from the media and his precarious state of health, Michael Schumacher continues to arouse the attention and admiration of the public. The man nicknamed the Red Baron dominated the Formula 1 world championship for many years. Seven-time world champion, a record he shares with Lewis Hamilton, he has become the idol of Ferrari scuderia fans. A myth that was reinforced after his career and the drama of this accident which occurred in skiing and the interest in the 53-year-old former pilot does not run out of steam if we look at the last auction that took place held this Wednesday near Geneva, Switzerland. The Ferrari F2003-GA Chassis 229, driven by the German, was auction and she left for an astronomical price.

Estimate largely exceeded, a new record broken

Results, the car was sold for the sum of 13.16 million euros! A new record for a Formula 1 which was estimated at the base by the auctioneers between 7.5 and 9.5 million euros. The previous record already came from a car driven by Michael Schumacher and it was bought for 7.5 million euros at the time. Record sums which show the fascination of the general public for the father of Mick Schumacher.

Crowned world champion in 2003 with this racing car, the former sportsman wrote his legend on the Formula 1 circuits and still today he continues to break records.
