Michael Rousseau and Francophones

We learned last week that Michael Rousseau, President and CEO of Air Canada, does not know French although he has lived in Quebec for 14 years. Several factors can explain this fact, but I would like to highlight this hypothesis: French-speaking Quebecers probably contributed in large numbers to his ignorance of the language of Molière.

In the metropolis, many people switch from French to English as soon as they have the opportunity. Several valid reasons can explain this bad habit (e.g. wanting to be accommodating; practicing their English; making sure they are understood correctly; speeding up the conversation; etc.), but the fact remains that they are actively involved. to the weakening of their language in Quebec by doing so.
