(Miami) Jannik Sinner beat third seed Daniil Medvedev 6-1, 6-2 on Friday to advance to the final of the Miami tennis tournament.
Second seed, Sinner is the first player since John Isner in 2018 and 2019 to reach the final two years in a row in Miami. Last year, Medvedev beat Sinner in the final.
On Sunday, Sinner will face the winner of the duel between fourth seed Alexander Zverev and 11e top seed Grigor Dimitrov.
Sinner eliminated Medvedev in 69 minutes.
“I have another chance this year,” Sinner said during the on-field interview after the game. I don’t think he played his best tennis and I tried to stay focused. »
The Italian broke Medvedev’s serve four times. He is now 21-1 this year.
In women’s doubles, Canada’s Gabriela Dabrowski and New Zealand’s Erin Routliffe reached the final with a 6-7, 6-4, 10-4 loss to Asia Muhammad and Alycia Parks of the United States.

Dabrowski is a 31-year-old player from Ottawa.
She and Routliffe are the second seeds in the tournament.
In the final, they will face an American or Italian pair.
In the evening, Sofia Kenin and Bethanie Mattek-Sands will compete against Jasmine Paolini and Sara Errani.
