Mia Schem, hostage of Hamas for 54 days, speaks for the first time in an interview which will be broadcast in full on Israeli television, Friday December 29. Excerpts.
Released on November 30, Mia Schem, a 21-year-old Franco-Israeli woman, agreed to review the conditions of her detention and her arrival in Gaza. She accuses. “I lived through a holocaust. Everyone there is a terrorist, they are families under the control of Hamas. Looking back, I realized that I was in a family. Suddenly, I started to ask myself questions. Why am I in a family’s house? Why are there children here? Why is there a woman here?”she says.
Locked “in a dark room”
On October 7, Mia was participating in a techno festival near Gaza, when Hamas terrorists appeared, massacring 270 people there. Several hostages were kidnapped, including the young girl, injured in the arm during the assault. In the Palestinian enclave, she says she was “locked in a dark room”. “It is forbidden to speak, you must not be seen, you must not be heard. You are hidden, there is a terrorist who watches you 24 hours a day, seven days a week. He watches you he rapes you with their eyes”, she continues. The girl’s arm was treated, as shown in a Hamas propaganda video. The full interview will be broadcast this evening in Israel.
