Metropolitan express network | Resumption of service after another outage in the middle of a storm

Service resumed on the Réseau express métropolitain (REM) late Saturday afternoon after an interruption that occurred as a major winter storm swept through Quebec.

After initially announcing that the service should resume around 4:15 p.m., REM management announced on the social network

Then, around 5 p.m., REM management announced the gradual resumption of service as well as the resolution of the power supply issue.

This was the second service interruption to occur on the REM in the space of a few days.

By email, a REM spokesperson, Michelle Lamarche, clarified that an equipment breakdown on a train was the cause of this stoppage.

The train in question thus came to a halt between the Île-des-Sœurs and Panama stations. An intervention agent who was inside the train, as is now always the case when the winter plan is deployed, during the storms, was however able to bring it back to the station.

A backup bus service made it possible to transport passengers during this interruption of service.
