Météo France placed the Alpes-Maritimes, Ain, Isère and Rhône departments on Saturday July 8 on orange “heat wave” vigilance for Sunday July 9. This alert will begin at 6 a.m.

Sunday, on the Center-East, “the minimums will most often be between 20 and 22 degrees with maximums of 34 to 37 degrees, or even a little more occasionally”specifies the meteorological institute. “In the South-East and in particular the Alpes-Maritimes, the minimums will go from 22 to 25 degrees, or even more punctually, and the maximums from 34 to 37 degrees. These high minimums during the night constitute an aggravating factor”, added Meteo France.

This episode of strong heat is considered “as not exceptional for the season”but its persistence requires particular vigilance, “especially for sensitive or exposed people”, alert the institute.
