Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve | Shots fired at a triplex

Shots were fired into the facade of a triplex in the Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve borough on Saturday morning, forcing the launch of a police investigation. However, no suspect has yet been arrested in connection with this case.

It was around 7:25 a.m. that the Montreal City Police Service (SPVM) was called to go to Saint-Germain Street, near Adam Street, after a report made to 911 by citizens who had noticed the presence of an impact of firearm projectiles on a building.

Arriving on the scene, the first patrol officers were able to confirm that bullet marks were visible on the ground floor of the building.

Shell casings were also located on the ground at this time.

Several investigators were sent to the scene and a security perimeter was set up. Witnesses are expected to be interviewed and video tapes from nearby surveillance cameras could help police reconstruct the sequence of events during the investigation.

Fortunately, the event caused no injuries. Montreal police had not yet made any arrests at the time of publication on Saturday.
