The police call for vigilance. Several supermarket chains in Annecy have lodged a complaint in recent days following cashing fake gift vouchers or fake restaurant tickets, announced the Annecy police station on Monday. The harm suffered, depending on the case, several hundred euros. The purchases in question mainly concern high tech products (televisions or game consoles). A judicial investigation is underway to identify the author(s) of these false means of payment. Of the small traders of the Annecy conurbation are also concerned.
Fake titles sold on social networks
“These are in particular apocryphal documents with the header of -TirGroupé- (Sodexo group) or restaurant tickets (Edenred group) (…) these false titles are marketed on social networks for a price much lower than their face value. “recalls the police station. “Businesses likely to receive these vouchers must exercise extreme vigilance when cashing these means of payment: these media always include the details of their issuer on the back”.
