“Memory foams”, Makenzie | The duty

There are so many albums, so many brave artists, and the unmarked paths seem more and more tortuous for each one, until the little back door where, with a large work slung over one shoulder, we finally slip through. Danyka Boileau-Bonaduce will have been Rose Bouche, will have gone through years of a destiny that seemed very weighed down, run the competitions. There she is, radiant, as Makenzie, autoharp in one hand and first album in the other, songs refined, more than ready, finally revealed in their ray of light. Diaphanous voice, choirs of angels, detailed instrumentation, numerous allies. Including a majority of musicians, that’s intentional. It’s about saving the planet, together or nothing, and these women are on a mission. Musical and… scientific. Makenzie’s poetry borrows from the jargon of biology and flora, she is a botanist of feelings: permafrost garden here, carbon footprint there. It’s difficult to sing at times, the demands are great, but the music provides the fertilizer. It’s the season, it’s growing.
