According to TMZ, Morgan Stevens, aged 70, was found dead at his home in Los Angeles (California) on Wednesday January 26. The actor has been seen in series known to the general public like Melrose Place (in which he played Nick Diamond, editor’s note) or even Famous (he played Professor David Reardon for two seasons). According to the American media, it was a neighbor who gave the alert after not having heard from them for several days. He was found dead in his kitchen. The criminal lead has been ruled out by law enforcement, who believe he likely died of natural causes.
If he appeared in The WaltonsMorgan Stevens distinguished himself in MacGyver, A Year in the Life, Murder, She Wrote, One Day at a Time, Murder One, Arabesque, Magnum or Walker, Texas Ranger. His last appearance on screen dates back to 1999. His career was disrupted by an event that occurred in the 1990s. The actor claimed that he had been the victim of police brutality.
For the record, he had been arrested for a minor incident. After waiting in a prison cell for an hour and a half, when he refused to return a shirt given to him, police officers allegedly kicked and beat him repeatedly. He suffered a broken nose, a fractured cheek, a dislocated jaw and nerve damage. Following the ordeal, he sued and an out-of-court settlement was reached.
