Invited this Tuesday evening on the show As an aside on Canal+ to talk about the return ofTo the blackboard on C8, which she has been producing for several years, Mélissa Theuriau saw some images from her years at the presentation of the LCI morning show in 2005.
At the time, the young journalist was still relatively unknown but shared the air every day with sports journalist Thierry Gilardi, who left sport for a few months to try out the news. And his buddy quickly became a friend. Disappeared suddenly in 2008, he left a great void for her.
“There were common values“, she explains, very moved to see him again. “This respect for others, as a woman, as a journalist, he tried his hand at this job, too…“. Today, the wife of Jamel Debbouze still regrets the absence of the one who should have come to her wedding, if he had not died a few weeks earlier. “I miss him a lot“, she confides to Nathalie Lévy.
In 2008, when he had just dined with friends, Thierry Gilardi suffered a sudden heart attack and could not be resuscitated. The sports journalist was entitled to a tribute from the entire Stade de France the next day, while a match of the French football team was taking place which he should have commented on.
Melissa Theuriau, for her part, married Jamel Debbouze in May of the same year, after a love at first sight which had occurred between them on the set ofAsterix at the Olympic Games a few months earlier. They then had two children, Léon, born at the end of 2008 and Lila, three years later. Always very happy with the family, Melissa Theuriau does not hesitate to pay tribute to her husband and her children on her Instagram account.
For their wedding anniversary, she had notably published a photo of them entwined with a nice caption “Married for thirteen years today. Thank you life !“. For several years now, the journalist has stood back from the cameras and preferred to go behind to produce documentaries or programs. Committed, she has been at the head ofTo the blackboardin which a (often political) personality deals with children’s issues.
