Melania Trump defends abortion in memoir

Model wife, unfailing support. Has Melania Trump really just made a mess by taking a stand for the right to abortion? While promoting her memoir book, she just released this video. “There is no room for compromise when we talk about the right that all women have at birth”. In the book itself published today she clarifies her thoughts. “The individual freedom a woman has gives her the authority to terminate her pregnancy if she wishes,” she explains.

Donald Trump’s reaction, no embarrassment, on the contrary he shows his understanding. “We talked about it, I told him ‘you have to write what you believe, I’m not going to tell you what you have to do’”he says. And if that was precisely the objective, to blur the lines on an ultra-divisive subject: to attenuate an overly conservative position which could cause the Republican candidate to lose votes.
