These are not the revelations that are missing from the side of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry since the release of Valentine Lowe’s book. In Brokers: The inside story of the Palace power struggles, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex do not really have a good reputation. The former actress Suits is particularly singled out for having worn a pair of earrings whose origin is most suspicious.
Over the pages, Valentine Lowe, royal expert, collected the testimonies of staff members of Meghan Markle and Harry from the time when they were still active members of the British monarchy. One of them asserts, in extracts published by the DailyMail, that Meghan Markle has repeatedly worn earrings, certainly magnificent, but offered by the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on the occasion of his marriage to Prince Harry. The prince was suspected of killing opposition journalist Jamal Khashoggi. For a duchess thoroughly behind human rights, the anecdote is comical.
A question then occupies all minds: was Meghan Markle aware of the origin of these curls and if so, did she pretend to ignore it? No one knows, but one detail puts the Duchess in a delicate position. A fervent reader of current affairs newspapers, Meghan Markle had claimed to read very regularly the serious The Economist, in which the case of the journalist’s assassination by the Saudi prince was dealt with. If we follow the confidences of the mother of Archie (3 years old) and Lilibet, (1 year old), Meghan Markle was therefore aware of the potential actions of the prince. Why did she agree to wear one of his gifts?
One of Meghan and Harry’s staff members revealed that they all agreed: “We made the decision not to tell Meghan and Harry about it, for fear of their reaction.” A sentence that confirms the couple’s unhealthy and inappropriate behavior towards their staff. Meghan’s lawyers had meanwhile claimed that their client had no idea of the degree of involvement of the prince in the murder of Jamal Khashoggi: It remains to be seen whether Meghan will ever agree to return to the subject and speak out once and for all on the scandal.
