A coffee table equipped with a panel to capture solar energy: this is the initiative of Jérôme Dufaur-Dessus, who won the Lépine Competition at the Paris fair. Meeting in Fleurance, in the Gers.
His diploma and gold medal are proudly displayed in his office. Jérôme Dufaur-Dessus had a simple but effective idea: “a mobile phone charger that fits on bistro tables”. But not only that, since the kit recharges using solar energy. A simple USB plug or an adapter cable allows the smartphone to resume empty.
Head to a café in the center of Fleurance, in the Gers, to test the system. Customers are becoming more and more curious. The inventor noticed that it was difficult to recharge your smartphone in a café or restaurant, unless you came across a friendly waiter. “It’s a great idea, to charge the phone while you drink coffee”, rejoices a foreign tourist. For its designer, however, the hardest part remains: finding the funding to develop its battery charger. But the resource is inexhaustible, and its invention is aimed at millions of users.
