While waiting for the Music Festival, Friday June 21, the 13 Heures set off to discover traditional dances. The Balochian orchestra covers the great titles of French song to make the French dance during popular balls.
In the heart of Montmartre a popular tune resonates. The Balochiens orchestra celebrates the rediscovered past, with its nostalgia and its banter. The musicians, inherited from traditional French songs, have been making Parisian popular balls dance for 20 years already. “We were begging, it was more for pleasure than out of necessity”, says the singer and guitarist of the Balochians. With their accordion, in the streets of Paris, they hope to revive a romantic spirit.
To take their audience on a journey, the Balochians take their music all over France. The France Télévisions teams accompany them to the South for two hours of concert. No question of hanging around on the train, they review their hits which have spanned the centuries. They hope to bring the country balls up to date with their good humor and their hits of the time. “We’re reclaiming the thing a little”, says a musician. The waltz, the tango, the java, everywhere in France, the Balochians make the French dance.
