“I’m not an actress who is haunted by her characters once I’ve finished a play or a role, a film, but I think for the character of Simone, it has almost become a companionship for me. In any case, I come out of this experience enhanced because I was inspired by his strength, by his dignity, by his faith in humanity, by his way of doing politics in the noble sense of the term.”, explains the actress.
Simone Veil was a magistrate then held the role of Minister of Health, during which she passed the Veil law, on the decriminalization of abortion in France. “Whether it’s abortion, Europe, racism, anti-Semitism, I have the impression that she was a pioneer. So in fact, I have the impression that today she left us a legacy that we must respect. She also bequeathed to me something that means that all of humanity is responsible for the human fate.”.
