Corrèze: meeting the inhabitants who bring the department to life

(France 2)

Thursday March 21, the 13 Heures continues its week in Corrèze, alongside a bar owner, a teacher, and a canteen manager.

“13 Heures chez vous” is in Curemonte (Corrèze), Thursday March 21, to follow Karine Terrieux-Rougier, owner of a bistro called “Le Plaisance”. While the village bar has been for sale for ten years, it is reopening exceptionally, in order to maintain its license 4. For these two days of service which attract residents of the village, Karine called on her parents. Monique and Guy Terrieux, now aged 75, for their part maintained the establishment for 22 years. Separating from them is heartbreaking for the family. “For them to fully enjoy retirement, this building really needs to be sold and taken over”confides Karine, moved while looking at her parents.

In the canteen, it’s like “family”

A few kilometers away, there is Julie, a teacher in a primary school of 14 students, spread over several levels. At meal time, Carine Bouyges, manager of the canteen, takes over. Thus, students, teacher and canteen manager have lunch together, “like a family”. The organic meal costs two euros, and benefits from a subsidy from the town hall.
