In the footage, a Russian drone is spotted in the sky of kyiv (Ukraine), right in the city center. We can hear the crackling of weapons, as the Ukrainians try to shoot down the enemy drone. Suddenly, at the window of his home, a civilian opens fire. Like him, many Ukrainians have a weapon and do not hesitate to use it. The drone is shot down. The man who was shooting from his window is called Oleksandr, he is a judge at the administrative court of kyiv.
An amateur hunter and shooter, Oleksandr has a strong sense of patriotism and is not the type to watch war idly by: “I really felt the threat that was rising”six months before the invasion, he explains. Oleksandr then consulted his family and “decided that everyone was going to learn to shoot”His wife, children and friends took classes. “Every Ukrainian in this situation should know how to handle a weapon as well as a fork,” he believes.
